Dawn game drive at Minneriya (or Kaudulla, depending on season), home to "The Gathering" — one of Asia's largest congregations of wild elephants. Afternoon visit to a nearby village and lake.
Scenic drive south to Yala National Park, Sri Lanka's most visited park and one of the best places in the world to spot a wild leopard. Afternoon at leisure near the park boundary.
Two game drives today, dawn and dusk, tracking leopard, elephant, sloth bear and abundant birdlife across Yala's varied terrain of scrub jungle, lagoons and open grassland.
Drive to Sinharaja Forest Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage rainforest and Sri Lanka's last major stand of primary lowland rainforest. Afternoon introductory nature walk at the reserve edge.
Full-day guided trek into the reserve with a local forest guide, tracking endemic birds and Sinharaja's remarkable biodiversity — over 50% of Sri Lanka's endemic species live within its canopy.
