Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival — Negombo

Meet your driver-guide at Colombo International Airport and transfer to Negombo (20 min). Check in and unwind by the beach after your flight.

Day 2

Negombo — Sigiriya

Drive north to the Cultural Triangle (3h30), stopping at the UNESCO-listed Dambulla Golden Cave Temple, home to over 150 Buddha images, en route to Sigiriya.

Day 3

Sigiriya Rock — Kandy

Climb the spectacular 5th-century Sigiriya Rock Fortress (around 1,200 steps) at a cool morning hour. Continue to Kandy via a spice garden in Matale, then visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and an evening Kandyan dance performance.

Day 4

Kandy — Ella by Train

Visit a working tea factory near Nuwara Eliya before boarding Sri Lanka's famous scenic train through rolling tea plantations to Ella.

Day 5

Ella — Yala

Morning free to explore Ella — the Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam's Peak are both an easy walk. Drive to Yala (3h) in the afternoon ahead of your safari.

Day 6

Yala Safari — Galle

Early-morning jeep safari in Yala National Park in search of leopards, elephants and sloth bears, then drive to Galle (3h) and explore the 17th-century Galle Fort as the sun sets over the ramparts.

Day 7

South Coast Beach Day

A final, unhurried day on the south coast — swim, relax on the sand, or add an optional whale-watching trip from nearby Mirissa (seasonal, Nov–Apr).

Day 8

Departure

Transfer to Colombo International Airport (2h) for your homeward flight.
